Puff (The Magic Dragon)

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax
And other fancy stuff.

Oh! Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail,
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail.
Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came,
Pirate ships would low’r their flag
When Puff roared out his name.

Oh! Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys,
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

Oh! Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

A Cat Called Alexander (Mixolydian Moggy)

I am a cat called Alexander

From on the fourth floor.

I prowl the darkest alleyways,

Yes, I’m tough so shut your door.

For I am a town cat!

Yes, I am a night cat!

Du du du ……….

I walk on silent, velvet paws,

I’m hardly heard or seen.

I terrify the neighbourhood,

‘Cos I’m really hard and mean.

For I am a town cat!

Yes, I am a night cat!

Du du du ……….

I’m leader of a cut-throat gang,

My members are all scarred.

We wait around to pick a fight,

Yeah! And then no holds are barred.

For I am a town cat!

Yes, I am a night cat!

Du du du ……….

This performance of a Cat Called Alexander is as we will perform it, including the clicks but we will not be swaying as it looks untidy and we have a different (surprise) ending.

In this version of Puff the Magic Dragon the speed and dynamics are correct but we will not sing the extended version of verse three. We will sing .. ceased his fearless roar and go straight into the last chorus quietly then loudly for the last repetition.

We also sing A land called Honah Lee NOT THE land called Honah Lee.

Wild Mountain Thyme

O, the summer time is coming,

And the trees are sweetly blooming,

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the purple heather.

Will you go? Will you go?

And we’ll all go together,

To pull wild mountain thyme.

All around the blooming heather,

Will you go? Will you go?

I will build my love a tower

By yon clear crystal fountain,

And on it I will pile

All the flowers of the mountain.

Will you go? Will you go?

And we’ll all go together,

To pull wild mountain thyme.

All around the blooming heather,

Will you go? Will you go?

If my true love was gone,

I would surely find no other,

To pull wild mountain thyme

All around the purple heather.

Will you go? Will you go?

And we’ll all go together,

To pull wild mountain thyme.

All around the blooming heather,

Will you go? Will you go?

Hey, Mr Miller

Hey, Mr Miller,

What a swing that you bring to the band.

Hey, Mr Miller,

What a swing that you bring to the band.

With your trombone and your saxophone,

You can hear it all through the land.

With your trombone and your saxophone,

You can hear it all through the land.
